J.J. Yeley: 40th
Rain canceled today’s qualifying session for the LifeLock.com 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill. As a result, the 43-car field for Saturday night’s 267-lap race was set by car owner points per the NASCAR rulebook.
J.J. Yeley, driver of the No. 96 DLP® HDTV Toyota Camry for Hall of Fame Racing, will start 40th. The top-35 drivers in points were awarded the top 35 spots, followed by past champions Terry Labonte and Bill Elliott, who occupied the 36th and 37th spots, respectively. The 36th through 41st cars in owner points were slotted in behind Elliott, and since Yeley is 38th, he was awarded the 40th spot.
Forty-five drivers were slated to qualify for the LifeLock.com 400. Those not making the cut in the 43-car field were Johnny Sauter and Tony Raines.
The LifeLock.com 400 gets underway at 8 p.m. EDT on Saturday, July 12 with live, high-definition coverage provided by TNT beginning with its pre-race show at 6:30 p.m. The race will also be broadcast on SIRIUS Satellite Radio Channel 128.
