NASCAR driver and newest Golden Tee buddy J.J Yeley may race cars for a living, but at heart he loves Golden Tee just like the rest of us.

The IT crew got to hang with J.J. at the Horse Power Tee Shot Tour long drive competition in Joliet Illinois during NASCAR’s stop at Chicagoland Speedway.

At 5'8" and 160 pounds, long drives are not necessarily J.J.'s bread and butter, unless you think 400 miles around an oval counts, but he put forth a good show nonetheless. The unique event paired up a NASCAR racer with a professional long driver. In case you're wondering, his teammate, 2002 long drive National champion Carol Wolter, stood a stout 6'4" and 245 pounds.

J.J. certainly didn't break any long drive records, but we got to know a little more about the man inside the 96 car.

"I've been playing Golden Tee for about 5 years," says J.J. "When we're on the road at different tracks, we're always on the lookout for the next GT machine."

J.J. recently placed third at the Lennox Industrial Tools 301 at the New Hampshire Speedway, and shows promise of being a factor on the Sprint Cup circuit this year, and many years to come. He hopes his Golden Tee game follows suit, and while he says he's getting much better the more he plays, he still hasn't mastered the '08 courses. Still, for J.J. playing Golden Tee is a perfect getaway.

"If I wreck my car or drive it into the wall, my day might be done, and I'll probably feel it for a few days. I shoot a bad round of GT; I can put in another 5 bucks and try it all over again."
