September 21, 2008 Event: Chevy Presents An American Revolution 28th Annual Four Crown at Eldora
JJ returned to Eldora to participate in all three events of the 28th Annual Four Crown on Saturday evening. He was slated to drive the #4 Ford Esslinger Midget for Bob and Janice East, his own #1 Triple Crown Mopar Sprint car and the #3 Silver Crown Chevy for Joe Dooling.
The USAC Midget race was as exciting as any that JJ has raced in the past, and JJ fans were all cheering him on as he started 4th, inside row 2 in the #4 Ford. JJ and fellow racer Dave Darland were neck in neck trading first and second, but once he got the lead JJ held on to capture the win in the 25 lap feature.

JJ's daughter Faith attended her first dirt race and happily sat in the stands wearing the safety glasses and ear protection and cheering daddy on to his win!
The Dooling #3 Silver Crown car had handling issues and JJ ended up pulling into the pits before the end of the race and finished 21st.
The Triple Crown Racing #1 Sprint car placed 6th in the heat, 9th in the semi and JJ ended up 13th in the feature.
When JJ wasn't driving he was working on his car (#1 Sprint) or the #3 (Silver Crown) car. Just like the ole days.
It was great to see JJ up on the podium after his win in the #4 Midget, with a smile on his face, celebrating the win along with family, friends and all the JJ fans who have been around since he started racing years ago. He's a racer doing what he does best...doing what he loves...racing to win.
Special thanks to Neil Cavanaugh for taking and sending us pictures to share.
