Chili Bowl 2009

Date: January 19, 2009

Event: Chili Bowl Midget Nationals

JJ started 6th in the "A" feature and finished 5th Saturday night at the Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

There was a record 281 competitors to start the week, all there to take home the golden driller.

Wednesday night was JJ's night to qualify, he took second that night and was the only driver to give Sammy Swindell a fight for the win. Lap traffic made it hard for JJ to get to Swindell. It was the most exciting race of the week to watch.

Yeley brought Cruz Pedregon's Toyota-powered Odyssey Extreme Batteries/Hot Hues No. 1J Spike across the stripe second.  Yeley commented that, "I've been in the alphabet soup so many times here that second place is just like winning 'cause I know on Saturday I'm locked in the 'A' and that's a lot less races than I'm used to running here."

Thanks to all the great fans who stopped by to say hello and wish JJ luck, it means alot to us! It was thrilling to hear the crowd cheer for JJ during driver intros, they were by far, the loudest of all the drivers.
