February 17, 2009

On Jayski.com, there is a recent article about a driver who is going to give away tickets to each race, because of these hard times he wanted a way to thank the fans. We think that's a great idea.

But someone else has been doing that since the first year he started in NASCAR, JJ Yeley.

Race Day with JJ

Here is one fan's comment and opinion on the idea.

JJ never did it as a publicity stunt or to sell t-shirts and gain fans. He did it to show fans how cool it was to race. He would send us to the pits. Two to 8 persons a weekend when ever he could. Never asked for a thing. JJ also had us to a Nationwide race, He filled a section of the stands and fed us. Never asked for a dime or asked to get an article written about it. I miss him dearly at the track. He was always kind and never spoke a bad word about anything. He got the bad end of the stick each time IMO because he worked with what he was given, and never complained. He should have.
Here is a video of Night out with JJ.
