11/25/2011 HEY YOU!!!!!!! - Sonny Richardson
Hey J. J. Hows it hangin buddy? This is Sonny Richardson from Eaton, Ohio. We met at Pocono Raceway in September of 2010. We went go cart racing the night we arrived in Pocono. We (Myself, Joyce,Todd,Patsy, and Rob and Lisa.)We were guests of Joels. We rented one of his coaches for the weekend. We have been following you closely ever since. WE missed you at last years Kentucky Race but look forward to seeing you at next years race. I have a little more news to share with you. After renting one of Joels coaches ,me and Todd had to go out and buy one of our own. We bought a 1999 Winnebago Adventurer 35 footer with a slide out in the living room.It only has 28000 miles on it. We really like it and we are only the second owners. Well I guess that I had better get off of here and let you go back to whatever you were doing. Happy Thanksgiving man, and we'll see you in June for my birthday
Later Dude,
Sonny

10/4/2011 Jake's PawPaw - "Red" (PawPaw) Raborn
Hey JJ,
Happy Birthday ! ! ! I am writing this as much for JJ's fans about as much as I am for him. Did you fans know that JJ is not only a fantastic NASCAR driver but also a TREMENDOUS charitable, caring and Christian human being. I am familar with JJ's birthday mainly because it was 5 years ago on Oct 5 that I lost my little grandson, Jake Owen Raborn to the beast we call cancer, we call it Jake's "Angelversary".
A short story: Jake was diagnosed at age 2 1/2 with a rare liver cancer that by then had already spread to his lungs. He was a patient at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis. He got to watch a lot of TV and videos and besides Shrek and Dora he liked NASCAR racing and Cops. He liked anything that went fast and made noise. Green was his favorite color and then JJ was driving a green No. 18 for Joe Gibbs. Therefore JJ was his favorite driver. I was going to the spring race at Talledega and my son, Jake's father, asked me to go by and get Jake a JJ Yeley T-shirt. I didi so and was telling the lady at JJ's trailer about Jake and she said that JJ would be at his trailer the next AM signing autographs and I should come back and get his shirt autographed. I had a little note written to JJ about Jake and his condition and a little 4 in. dia. plastic magnet with Jake's picture and the words "We are praying for you" on it. JJ read the note and said with a hint of tear in his voice "That picture will be in my car this race and every race the rest of the season".
During that summer JJ and then teammate Denny Hamlin came to visit the children at St. Jude. It was a PR visit I am sure and that is fine, those children there love seeing anyone visit them. But JJ came especially to see Jake and the PR people at St. Jude made pics of the 2 and the story made the front of the Memphis paper sport page the next day. It did not show the picture of JJ and Jake because Jake was in an induced semi-coma at the time and was all swollen and jaundiced. But he was conscious enough to recognize JJ and his driver's suit and actually reached for JJ....that tore at JJ's heart and he called Jake his "hero". A lady from Jake's hometown actually wrote a song called "My Hero" about this event and recorded it to a CD and donates the proceeds from all it's sale to St. Jude. I need to post it to YouTube so you fans can hear it, if I do I will put a note on here later. You can go to YouTube and search for "The Jake Owen Raborn Foundation Video" and see Jake in action when he was having a good day during his 2 1/2 years of treatment. Anyway, the week of the fall race at Talledega, the Angels called Jake home. JJ heard about this , called with his condolences and even tried to make it for Jake's funeral. Schedule would not allow but JJ was interviewed on national TV and gave us all his condolences and the news that Jake had passed away on his birthday.
Needless to say, all of Jake's family know JJ Yeley now and will be forever grateful to hiim for his concern and sympathy. Jake died at the age of 4 years, 10 mos and 5 days, his birthday is Dec. 31 and he loved fireworks so you fans shoot some for him this year.
Since Jake's passing, JJ has supported charitable events that we have had for a pediatric cancer support foundation the family started after Jake's passing. It is The Jake Owen Raborn Foundation and you can see more of it on www.jakesfoundation.org It is a foundation based on the "pay it forward" principle because Jake's family was helped so much by so many in their time of need.
JJ even offered to run the fdn. logo on the car he was driving at the 600 in Charlotte in 2010. Am attaching a picture of that. Will try to attach another of JJ with his "in memory sticker" on the green no. 18, if I can't, please go to www.caringbridge.org/la/jakeowen and you can see it there and see the site where we would keep up with Jake's condition while undergoing treatments, surgeries. etc. Notice that site has had almost 5 million "hits", more than a million of them have been since Jake's passing.
Another little side note. Jake had a little sister born less than a year after his passing, her legal name is Madison HopeAnne Raborn (all the females on her side of family have an Anne in their name). I knew JJ's daughter was named Faith because I would tell him that as long as he had Faith and Hope on his side he could not lose. I only noticed before typing this that on JJ's bio that Faith's middle name is Anne also. Coincidence or GodWink?
Anyway, I hope Ms. karen allows all of this to be posted onn JJ's mailbag because I just wanted all of JJ's fans to know whether he ever wins any kind of race again or not...he is a WINNER in our hearts and always will be. As I follow JJ's charitable events for many other causes, I like to thank he has little Jake on his mind as he is doing many of these events to help other children.
So, Happy Birthday again and please know that we all still root for you, pray for your safety and hope you get a real fast, heavily sponsored full time competitive ride and just get up there and give those frontrunners a little of what you and Jake can do together....because he is still riding with you.
And thanks for all you do.....

9/2/2011 Columbian-race car driver - Ronaldo Rico
JJ, remember me from Bristol? Dark hair, drank a lot? Lol. if not, no matter. You are the guy who stole my girlfriend. Lol. Just kidding. You and Joel made her a Nascar fan at Bristol though. We booked Star Coach Race tour again for Pocono and she loved it. Again.... Actually I'm nervous... lol. I think she is only going to see you guys now. but she is a NASCAR fan now. I know you cannot come to the Coaches every race but the fact you try, and that you are ther is awesome! Our nephew went nuts meeting you and seeing you in the track. Thanks!!!!! Don't ever change. If you do a 5 year old will be disappointed! Lol.....I will send a picture soon.

8/23/2011 Mosier - Tim
Hello JJ and fans first off let me say that I have met you twice and know that you are a very good person and a race talent if you could get to with the right team but this whole START AND PARK thing just seems rediculous. That would be like going to youre wedding and stopping half way up the aisle every time, is this actually making any money or just carrying everybody to the next race? Please explain.
Thanks for your question, you can listen to the latest LOL I recorded last night. It will answer your question.

6/26/2011 question - jjfan
Do you have a pit crew for the nascar team? It seems like you are racing until the fist pit stop and then you are off. Are you getting out of the car and changing the tires yourself and are too tired or too many laps down to go back out.
Dear JJ Fan,
The team has very limited funds, which also effects the size of the crew, tires, fuel, etc.
The WMS #46 team is a start and park team, without sponsorship we are limited to the number of laps and races we can run. They are hoping to find sponsorship to be more competitive. Thanks
